Japanese company Ryobi announced that it has converted the electricity consumption at three of its sites in China to 100% renewable energy, using the Green Electricity Certificate (GEC) issued by the Chinese government.
This move aims to reduce annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by approximately 80,000 tons, representing approximately 23% of the group’s total emissions in fiscal year 2024.
The three Ryobi sites covered by the certification are:
- Ryobi Casting Production in Dalian, specializing in the manufacture of casting products and molds.
- Ryobi Casting Production in Changzhou, specializing in the manufacture of casting products.
- Ryobi Building Technology in Dalian, specializing in building products.
This is a major step toward achieving the group’s sustainability goals and reducing its carbon footprint in China, and supports the global trend toward relying on clean and renewable energy.
